One Dollar from Each Carton of Sirloin Beef Vegetable Soup Sold is Donated to JDRF
We are Joe and Courtney Norgaard, owners of Local Roots. We’re fortunate to have been doing business in Minnesota since 2009. In August of 2014 our then five-year-old son Henry was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D). Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease that strikes both children and adults suddenly. It has nothing to do with diet or lifestyle. There is nothing you can do to prevent it. And, at present, there is no cure. Over the next 2 years we learned to manage Henry’s condition with the help of a wonderful team of doctors, family, and JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation).
In the summer of 2016 we set a goal of continuous fundraising until a cure is found. One dollar from each carton of Henry’s Favorite Sirloin Beef Vegetable soup purchased will be donated to JDRF. ($12 per case.)
JDRF is the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. Their vision: A world without type 1 diabetes. Their mission: Accelerating life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent and treat T1D and its complications.
